Product Overview

The WCS1700 is a Hall-effect current sensor module designed to monitor heavy electrical loads safely up to 70A. It measures AC or DC currents via a non-contact magnetic induction method so the sensing conductor passes through the sensor hole and your controller remains galvanically isolated from the high-power circuit. An on-board protection circuit asserts a digital fault signal when a user-set trip point is exceeded, effectively acting as a smart electronic fuse for motors and power supplies. A potentiometer lets you dial in a specific Overcurrent Threshold, while dual outputs provide an Analog Output (Aout) for real-time logging and a Digital Output (Dout) for immediate fault detection; an onboard LED indicates overcurrent status for easier debugging.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. It provides an analog current signal and a digital overcurrent fault output that Arduino projects can monitor, while the measured AC or DC conductor passes through the sensor opening instead of the controller’s low-voltage circuitry.
ShillehTek supplies this sensor module pre-soldered for easier wiring. Route the load conductor through the sensor hole, connect the module to your controller, then use Aout for measurement and Dout for overcurrent detection.
The module provides two signal outputs: Aout for real-time current measurement and Dout for a digital fault signal when the adjustable overcurrent threshold is exceeded. The sensing method is Hall-effect, so the power conductor remains galvanically isolated.
It is suited for monitoring heavy AC or DC loads such as motors and power supplies up to 70A. The adjustable trip point and digital fault output let a controller react quickly like an electronic fuse.
The overcurrent LED indicates that the sensed current has exceeded the threshold set by the onboard potentiometer. Reduce the load current or adjust the trip point, then check Dout in your controller for the corresponding fault signal.
