electronics project: take the temperature

the DHT component is a common electronics component you can incorporate into your digital electronics projects to obtain the ambient temperature of the environment it operates within.Works great with the raspberry pi and arduino.Easy to (physically) install in the breadboard. Easy enough to interface with in software.

we got this to track temps in our freezer to let us know if it ever starts to get warmer aka the freezer goes out. So far it has been accurate and seems to be doing well. It was pretty easy to set up. good investment for peace of mind without costing too much.

Worked for my project

This was easy to use and worked well for my project. It's a good price as well.

I'll keep buying DHT11 for 2.50 instead of these for 11.00. The actual humidity is 36%. The DHT11 calls it 42. The DHT22 calls it 45! Huh? 8.00 more and it it 1% farther off.

Quick and accurate

I'm using this sensor with an arduino for a thermostat project. The readings have been more than accurate enough for my use. I like that the dht22 has a wider reading range over the dht11 sensor. The board is fairly small so it be easy to fit into a 3d printed case

Easy to integrate

This was easy to integrate into one of my projects. No problems with the hardware or finding some code & libraries for it to work. Seems to be fairly reliable and accurate enough for hobby projects.

Easy to use and accurate

I like this sensor compared to others that I ordered because it came with DuPont jumpers which made it super simple to hook up and test before a permanent install. It hooks up super simple to the GPIO header on an RPI, I have not figured out the best way to use it with my ESP32 boards yet but I know it will work. But super easy to hook up and use on a raspberry pi. The hole in the board is nice to be able to make a rigid connection to something. Definitely a nice sensor.

another name for a AM2302

An upgraded version of the DHT11.Better temperature accuracy and wider humidity range than the DHT11.The pinout is electrically identical to the DHT11 for an easy replacement.Your interface will have to be configured for that AM2302 / DHT22 if replacing a DHT11.In my case it was the AM2301 series.
