Arrived not pre-soldered

The whole point of paying twice as much for a pre-soldered board is for it to be pre-soldered

Not as advertised and DOES require additional hardware and knowledge beyond a simple IDE

We got this board under the understanding, per the item listing, that it does not require additional hardware to setup and utilize. The listing also says you only need the Arduino IDE in order to program this device. These are completely FALSE, and it does require both additional hardware and knowledge to properly utilize! Because you cannot simply plug-n-play to utilize or program the board, it is NOT what is advertised and is how we are basing our review.Granted, with the proper additional hardware and knowledge, one CAN use this board, but not as advertised and is why it is getting a 1 star review; nothing is able to be tested as advertised because it does not function as advertised.

Good product

Worked great with my robotics project

Nice little board

There's a little bit of a learning curve coming from Arduino, but with a UART programmer, you should be able to get this working.

Very nice

I love the STM32 this version saves me a bit of time

Solid STM32 Bluepill board, requires programmer or Serial to UART adapter

Not a board for beginners, or at least not for those unwilling to buy extra hardware and tinker a bit. Unlike more beginner friendly boards you won't be able to program this directly over USB. You'll need either a dedicated programmer or a Serial to UART adapter. I had a Serial to UART on hand so I opted for that route, with a steps you can get this up and running pretty easily in Arduino IDE. After that it more or less works as simply as an Arduino board. The board itself is really well crafted, the pre-soldered pints are nicely soldered and there is no residual residue on the board. Works great, I was able to take a I2C display program directly from an Arduino Nano project and deploy it to this board. It worked exactly as well.Overall this is a good board to use for embedded purposes and if you have a specific reason for a STM32 Bluepill. Otherwise for the price and requirement for external hardware to program you're probably better off with a more modern Arduino clone board which can be had for roughly the same cost and are far easier to program.

More complex, need a programmer, authentic

So, mine was authentic and seems to work as you'd expect for this dev board. It's more expensive than others on here, but those seem to have hit or miss authenticity and specs.I'm taking one mark off due to the listing claiming that there's no additional hardware required... which isn't right. You need a programmer to burn the bootloader.
