Develop joystick-controlled motion with a Nano ATmega328P, PCA9685 servo driver and two MG90S metal-gear micro servos. Your firmware reads the KY-023 joystick's X/Y inputs and commands the servos for small robotic mechanisms, interactive projects or a pan-tilt build using your own brackets. The pre-soldered Nano has CH340C and USB-C, and the pre-soldered PCA9685 connects over I2C. A 400-point breadboard and 10cm jumpers are included for prototyping. A regulated external servo power supply is required and not included; share ground with the controller and never power servos from GPIO.

Frequently asked questions

How many servos are included?

The kit includes two MG90S metal-gear 9g micro servos, one KY-023 dual-axis joystick, a pre-soldered USB-C Nano ATmega328P board and a pre-soldered PCA9685 servo driver. A breadboard and jumper wires are also supplied.

Does the 16-channel driver mean 16 servos are included?

No. The PCA9685 has 16 PWM channels, but the bundle contains two servos. Additional channels can be used for your own expansion, with suitable extra servos and power planning.

What power supply do the servos need?

Use a regulated external supply suitable for your servo setup, and share ground with the controller. The servo power supply is not included. Do not power the servos from a controller GPIO pin.

Are pan-tilt brackets or a finished mechanism included?

No mechanical brackets, enclosure or assembled mechanism are included. This is an electronics kit for building your own joystick-controlled motion project.

Is the joystick-to-servo program already installed?

No combined project firmware is supplied. You wire the joystick and driver and write or configure firmware to map joystick input to servo movement. A computer and USB-C data cable are also required.
