Nice PIR motion detector
By: Amaurosis Fugax, MD
★★★★☆
I got this PIR motion detector for an Arduino project It works as intended and I found it easy to use and adjust The packaging could be better as the components on the back of the board are exposed and could easily be damaged in shipping

Great PIR motion sensor
By: Steve
★★★★★
It just works If you like to tinker and have some spare PCB boards around throw this on Its low power draw and sensitivity is great Ive put a little motion sensor together to automate some lights with Home Assistant Good price you can find cheaper but its not going to arrive with the Amazonbacked 30day return if you get a dud If theres an issue I usually want to address it and get back to tinkering quickly so Im willing to pay a bit more

Good basic motion detector
By: David Raiman
★★★★★
As a few other reviewers have noted a software controllable adjustment would be an improvement but would increase the cost So you need to provide access to the pots if you need to change the sensitivity The delay you can do similarly programmatically but that means the device may not be able to sleep as much if youre running on battery

45VDC min supply 33VDC trigger
By: stvrdl
★★★★☆
Simply packaging allows damage during shippingThe pins and some components are bent at an angleThe device is still functionalThe device has an onboard 33 Volt regulatorIt would be nice if there was a 33 Volt input pin along with the 45 Volt pinThe trigger is 33 Volt when motion is detectedThe device has two potentiometers one for sensitivity and one for the trigger pin high durationAlso theres a jumper pin for the trigger mode

Very simple device with very simple features purely analog
By: BlinkingSun
★★★★★
You couldnt ask for more in the realm of ease of use but there is definitely something to desire in overall functionits analo offering a simple onoff output instead of a digital or resistance variable output This is greater for easy setup but leaves something to be desired if for example you want different responsiveness programmed in to your system at different times of the day It does the job for me so Im happy

Beginner friendly PIR sensor
By: T
★★★★★
Very easy to use This design is really neat and you can make use of a thermistor andor LDR to increase accuracy This outputs 33V logic not 5V so keep that in mind if youre going to use with a relay or something expecting 5V There are lots of solutions for that though Currently I have this set up with a relay to control a lamp and its been very fun to use

Well made easy to work with
By: Robert
★★★★★
SHILLEHTEK makes nice boards for development and testing This is well manufactured Though they provide no documentation the chip sheets are always easy to find because these are highvolume common partsI replaced a simpler sensor with this one on an old Pi project The old one had both false negatives not detecting people in the room and positives turning on when ghosts came through and this one seems to have cured that Having adjustable sensitivity and rejection really helpsRecommended

Very straightforward and easy to use
By: Mike K
★★★★★
This PIR sensor is exactly like the other dozen clones out there Very easy to use Outside pins are for 5v VCC and GND middle pin goes HIGHLOW 2 pots to adjust sensitivity and timing and a jumper pin to switch trigger modes whenhow the timer restarts Since the GNDVCC pin labeling is covered up look it up or just remember GND is closest to the switch trigger selection jumper The big dome is just a lense to widen the field of view so if its too wide for your application its not usually an issue to partially cover it up for a narrower cone of sensitivityTheres a couple hidden features on these theres a couple solder pins on the bottom to hook up a couple more sensors to help with accuracy One is for a thermistor the other for a photoresistor Adding an LDR photoresistor is probably the one most people would choose to use because it helps avoiding triggers when the lights turn on or off The other is to help with temprelated trigger issues it is sensitive to IR after allYoure paying for convenience since its basically plugnplay but even then this is a little on the spendy side with zero functional difference from what I could tell to the other 5v clones However keep in mind this is NOT a 5v33v module I did a quick test with an Uno and an ESP32 wa voltage divider to drop the output signal pay attention to currents and it worked as expected

Pretty sophisticated device for peanuts
By: unclemymy
★★★★★
Im still amazed at the advanced electronics I can get at dimestore prices Some of the pins and other components were bent over from the shipping experience I havent fired it up ye t but dont expect any problem from the bent components I make music boxes so this gives me a new way to activate the different actions that I build into each one I really like the bezel thats fitted already Good deal

Nice design and very functional
By: John
★★★★★
The physical design is really nice and lends itself well to a custom enclosure All of the components are mounted opposite the sensor and there are no parts or traces waiting to be damaged on the sensor side Its a simple 3wire connection VCC GND OUT and it has an onboard regulator to allow it to run off anything from 520V The output is 33V which may be problematic for some devices expecting 5V but it was fine on my Arduinos It also has a jumper for 1shot or repeatable trigger and pot adjustments for sensitivity and hold delayThe only nice to have that I could really ask for would have been software control over the sensitivity and hold delays but at this price point thats an unrealistic expectationIn operation it works reliably and without any issues No special drivers or software required Its a simple 33V onoff signal thats all configured in the hardware itself If youve got a logic pin to connect it to its going to do the trick

Nice board
By: AER29
★★★★★
After a fair amount of experience with software Ive just recently started playing around with hardware Ive got a couple of microcontrollers and this sensor works great with them Im still getting used to buying boards and not getting documentation but have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to find tons of examples online and this board was no exception The adjustability of the sensitivity and the delay are great features too

Good for prototyping
By: kluj
★★★★★
The modules a bit on the expensive side but this is to account for its adjustability which is not typically present The module is good for prototyping to understand the parameters of what you want though probably isnt what youll want to order in bulk for your batch projects or maybe you dont care so much about price and will just use these no judgment here Module gave expected output in testing and adjusting rangesensitivity is straightforwardNote the module does not support 34V in at least in product description I didnt think to test if it functioned at those voltage ranges regardless so you will need to up voltage if using 1S LiPoLiFePO4 or a stable 33V out and eat the conversion losses The pin labels are also obscured by the ehhh diffusion dome that is you cant see which pin is which without popping the dome off or guessing but the dome comes off easily enough With these caveats for what it is its a useful wellmade product IMO

Working on Pi 3B
By: Long
★★★★★
This motion sensor works great Ideal for flipping a switch when you enter a room or walk by something like for turning on lights or playing a sound this is a fun one I plan to tie my pi to some speakers and have it play a sound when people walk by for some entertaining reactions The sensor is just bare and exposed like in the pictures so you may want to get or print an enclosure to protect the electronics or to mount the sensor in a good spot There are also plenty of tutorials online on how to wire and code up whatever functionality you want to do Chances are someone has already thought of it and has a tutorial somewhere Inexpensive sensor and very versatile can be use for many things Great investment and can be a lot of fun and learning experience
