This is an accelerometer acting on 6 individuated axial planes that comes in PRESOLDERED Everything is well labeled there was no damage to the module itself either The welds look clean and concise I also appreciate how theyre placed pronate to you Ras Pi or processor of your choice to give you a little extra room for any additional custom pieces youre moving around Although I havent had as long with it as Id liked I compared the actual output with some units Im very comfortable with and found them ACCURATE REPLICATABLE VERY WELL IMPRESSED

A useful accelerometer module for microcontroller projects
By: Poor Dobbin
★★★★☆
These are pretty standard MPU 6050 sensor modules that are supplied by multiple vendors They contain a 3axis accelerometer measures linear acceleration and 3 axis gyroscope It also has a temperature sensor but I did not use it It communicates over I2C with the host and it can also communicate via I2C to other devices like an OLED display and has a selectable addressI tested the modules basic functionality using an Arduino and Raspberry Pi Pico and the Adafruit libraries and sample code and they worked perfectly viewing via serial monitor They were packaged in a proper antistatic bag but overall the package is subpar and does not protect pins well hence minus one starThe modules come without any documentation but there is plenty of reference data and tutorials on the Web so using it wont be a problem even for a beginner

Works with adafruit MPU6050 libraty
By: BlinkingSun
★★★★★
Cool device Uses an MPU6050 chipset which is basically industry standard I have used this chip plenty of times for robotics projects so its a welcome addition to the arduino tool kit One thing worth noting is that this is three axis with three addition measurements of gyroscopic acceleration across the same axis There are lots of amazing applications for these sensors but I personally like to use them for feedback data for active acceleration limitation in motion control systems when working on manufacturing robotics Pairs well with the adafruit MPU6050 library and the output float values from the functions easily integrate into your code

TLDR easy to integrate poor pin protectionIm a not terribly experienced with embedded but this was easy enough I recommend you read the other vine reviews Like theirs mine suffered from poor pin protection and mine arrived bent and could have resulted in having to remove and resolder a new headerThe factory packaging is minus 1 point but so long as the vendor supports the product in such cases this is a minor issue for a good value 12 point45 stars

★★★★★
The media could not be loaded I am refurbishing my custom built RC aircraft that uses an Arduino Uno as a flight computer In order to provide gyroscope and accelerometer sensor signals I got the ST SHILLEHTEK pair of MPU 6050 GY521 modules The MPU 6050 is an Inertial Measurement Unit with 6 degrees of freedom and has a MEMS gyroscope It also has a temperature sensor and a Digital Motion Processor DMP to integrate the signalsThe MPU6050 board allows using a VCC of 5V so there is no risk of burning out the board Also getting the temperature from the board is an added benefit It was very easy to setup and interface with the Arduino Uno using the I2C protocol Now I will integrate it into the flight computer and get fine control of the roll yaw and pitch in the RC plane

These are great little sensors accelerometersand gyros 3 axes each I love that they use I2c to commutate as my display uses I2c as well so it uses less pins I downloaded the library and connected these to my Arduino for testing and both work perfect These will be a lot of fun to experiment with your imagination is endless with these

There was no documentation on how to use this board However I was able to find several references by searching on the Internet for GY521 Some of the results were useful It took me quite a while to get this working Only the first 4 pins are required to make this work The two SPI signals Vcc and GND I was able to observe the data using the Arduino IDE serial port monitor

By: Jeff G.
★★★★★
Connect via I2C interface and use your favorite programming language MPU6050 libraries are availableI connected one to an ESP32C3 and used MicroPython to read the values with an available library Constantly changing accelerometer and gyro values are returned But it takes some additional programming beyond the generic library to make sense of the numbers Google is your friend After finding a project that uses the MPU6050 in a homebuilt gyrocopter reading the explanation of the gyro and accelerometer in that project went a long way to help me make sense of the MPU6050 values and write my own code to display useful values which seem stable and reasonably accurate

Nice sensors ready to go and works great
By: Scott & Denise
★★★★★
These sensors were pretty much plug and play once I collected the information about them I found the vendor had a youtube channel and related github repository with all of the code needed in three files After that it was mostly just playing around with it I was getting an error about my I2C connection but I just reset my Pico W and everything was working great with the example code output I was a little worried at first since there was no documentation that came with the package it turned out great and everything I needed was pretty easily available I compared to some other sources of information and they were all similar Having this presoldered so I could drop into my breadboard just made it that much quick to be up and running Im excited to pair this with a little car project and 1 inch OLED screen to get info out of that effort

Will work great with my telescope
By: Posigrade
★★★★★
Got these to use on my radio telescope It uses steppers which can potentially miss steps so I wanted some kind of sanity check to make sure its still pointing where it thinks it is These would be easier and cheaper than an encoder solution for me at least for elevation so I wanted to give them an evaluationIn the setup shown you can ignore most of that mess of wires Im only using 4 of them 5V Ground SDA and SCL SDA is connected to A4 on the Arduino Nano and SCL is connected to A5 I downloaded the FastIMU library through my Arduino IDE loaded up the Calibratedsensoroutput example and it all just worked I did make a couple small modifications to make it more readable using the Serial PlotterI multliplied the three accelData lines by 100 so that everything scales better on the plot SerialprintaccelDataaccelX1000 SerialprintaccelDataaccelY1000 SerialprintaccelDataaccelZ1000 and I added this line at the very end of void setup SerialprintlnXAccl YAccl ZAccl XRot YRot ZRot TempIn my plot shown I had rotated the board slowly in each axis one at a time Z then Y then X Output looks perfectAt a very minimum Ill be able to use this on the elevation axis as an inclinometer for a sanity check on the position of my elevation axis and if I go nuts with the math I could use the accelerometers for the azimuth The fact that it has a temperature sensor built in is a bonus as I do like to monitor various temperatures around the telescope

Decent MPU 6050 sensors
By: Scrimshaw
★★★★☆
These are decent MPU 6050 sensors They contain a 3 axis accelerometer measures linear acceleration 3 axis gyroscope for measuring rotational acceleration It also has a bonus temperature sensor because why not add a temp sensor to an accelerometer It communicates over I2C with the host and it can also communicate via I2C to other devices like an OLED display and has a selectable addressI tested the basic functionality of both using an Arduino and the Adafruit libraries and sample code and they worked perfectly viewing via serial monitor I did not try to extend to an OLED display via I2C but I would presume it works as well Microchips generally work 100 or 0 so Im confident these are fully functional The only odd thing was that there was a bit of extra circuit board on each module that didnt get fully snapped off during the final manufacturing assembly You can easily snap it off yourself with some pliers but still you shouldnt have to They were packaged in a proper antistatic bagI am going to subtract 1 star for value and maybe for the extra bit of circuit board that didnt get snapped off because it makes the board bigger than it needs to be and maybe not everyone will know they can snap this end off Although the price is fair enough for 2 of these currently about 9 its a bit above the mid point of similar products Of course Ive verified these work perfectlyFinal Rating 4 stars Maybe just a bit more expensive than similar products on a price per unit basis but otherwise perfect
